Plaster casts. Dimensions Variable

Dull, inert cities, it is true, do contain the seeds of their own destruction and little else.

Phantasm consists of a large number of plaster castings made from four different Tetra Brick models. The bricks are arranged to form a structure reminiscent of a city, the white blocks acting as buildings.
Cities and their public spaces nowadays seem to be places designed only for work, commuting and consuming. The idea of the agora, of a public square, of space where one can simply be and live, has disappeared. The logistics of the market have been imposed on urban planning and the ideas of urbanism and architecture are dominated by neoliberal ideology and the dynamics of consumerism. The result is, no longer a phantasmagoria but precisely a ghost town, dead.
